About Opal Green
Opal Green viola strings are handmade synthetic-core strings designed for warm, uniform tone across all four strings. The A string uses a Kevlar core, which avoids the tonal shift that commonly occurs between the first and second strings when different core materials are used. The D, G and C strings use nylon cores with silver or tungsten-silver windings for warmth and depth.
The low tension profile across the set gives a responsive feel under the bow, supporting easy tone production and long bow strokes. A fine tuner is recommended when using the Kevlar A string.

Low tension gives an open, gut-like feel. The G resonates freely and blends naturally with the D and C on either side.
C string · Nylon core · Tungsten-Silver · approx 5.5 kg
Tungsten-silver winding provides warmth and depth in the lower register without heaviness. The low tension keeps it responsive and clear.

The Kevlar core on the A string provides a tonal character that matches closely with the nylon-core D string below it, avoiding the abrupt tonal shift that often occurs when an alloy or steel A is placed next to a synthetic-core D. The result is a more uniform sound across the full set.
Yes. A fine tuner is recommended when using the Opal Green Kevlar A string, as Kevlar cores can be sensitive to peg tuning at fine increments.
Several months under regular playing. Replace when the tone becomes dull or bow response slows. Wipe rosin off after each session with a clean, dry cloth.
No. Strings cannot be returned once the packet has been opened, for hygiene and tension reasons.
