Larsen Virtuoso viola strings are designed for advanced and professional players who demand strong projection, brilliant tone, and expressive range. The D, G and C strings are available in two voicings; the A string is typically paired from the Larsen Original range, which is how both the Medium and Soloist sets are configured.

Rich, projecting voice
The D is rich and projecting. Both voicings deliver strong presence at the tonal centre; the Strong tension adds additional authority under a heavier bow.
Resonant lower voice
The G is resonant and full, carrying well in orchestral contexts. The Strong voicing adds additional tension that suits soloists who need a commanding lower voice.
Deep, powerful foundation
The C provides a deep, powerful foundation with clear definition. Available in the Medium voicing for both the individual string and the set options.
Pair with Larsen Original A
Larsen Virtuoso does not have its own A string. The sets use a Larsen Original A (ball end) which integrates naturally with the Virtuoso D, G and C.

Why does Larsen Virtuoso not have an A string?
Larsen designed the Virtuoso range for D, G and C. The A string for both the Medium and Soloist sets is the Larsen Original A (ball end), which integrates naturally with the Virtuoso lower strings in terms of tension and tonal character.
How long do Larsen Virtuoso strings last?
Under regular playing the tone stays consistent for several months. Replace when the sound becomes dull or intonation in the upper positions starts to go false. Wipe rosin off after each session to extend lifespan.
Are these strings authentic Larsen?
