The result is the veiled, intimate tone called for in con sordino passages, without the flat, deadened quality that harder or heavier mutes can produce.
How to use
Installing and using the magnetic system.
- Bend the coated steel clip until it sits securely on the tailpiece, with the magnetic target facing the bridge.
- To mute, slide the mute onto the bridge from the tailpiece side, with the magnet facing the tailpiece. It seats like a standard mute.
- To unmute, slide the mute back toward the tailpiece. The magnet finds the clip and holds the mute firmly out of the way.
- Instructions with diagrams are included in the packet. Consult a luthier if you have any questions about fitting.
Care and storage

Wipe the rubber surfaces occasionally with a dry cloth to remove rosin dust. The engineered rubber maintains its flexibility over time, but avoid leaving the mute compressed onto the bridge for extended periods when not in use. The magnetic clip requires no maintenance; check that it remains firmly secured to the tailpiece before each use.
