How to use
Squeezing onto the bridge.
- Squeeze the mute gently to open it and press it onto the bridge. The rubber coating allows it to grip the bridge securely without tools.
- Remove by squeezing and lifting off the bridge. Do not force it or twist it sideways.
- Store in the included case when not in use rather than leaving it on the bridge, as the weight of a metal practice mute is best not left on the bridge during rest periods.
- This is not a quick-change mute for use mid-piece. Fit it before you start practising and remove it when finished.
Care and storage
Keep it dry and clean.
Wipe the rubber coating with a dry cloth after use to remove rosin dust. Avoid soaking or using cleaning solvents on the rubber. The storage case protects the mute from knocks in your case. Check periodically that the rubber coating shows no cracks or peeling, which would reduce its bridge-protection properties.

Can I use this mute in a concert or rehearsal?
No. A heavy metal practice mute reduces volume so drastically that it is not suitable for performance or orchestral rehearsal. Use an orchestral rubber mute for con sordino passages in performance.
Can this mute damage the bridge?
The rubber coating is specifically designed to protect the bridge surface. Normal fitting and removal will not damage a healthy bridge. Avoid leaving the heavy mute clamped on the bridge for long periods when not practising, as the added weight is unnecessary stress on the bridge feet.
How do I clean the mute?
