Warchal Amber viola strings are specially designed for violists who seek a warm, rich sound paired with excellent playability. The synthetic-core construction is engineered to enhance the tonal character of the viola, offering depth, warmth, and a refined response across the full dynamic range.
The A string has a synthetic core and ball end, with a smooth response that complements the rest of the set. The Amber range delivers rich overtones and smooth response, allowing for nuanced dynamics and expressive playing in both solo and ensemble contexts.

Warm, smooth top voice
The A is warm and smooth, with rich overtones that complement the lower strings. The synthetic-core A string provides a natural feel and consistent response.
Full, resonant middle
The D is full and resonant at the tonal centre. Smooth under the bow with a warm character that blends naturally in ensemble playing.
Deep, singing lower voice
The G provides depth and a singing quality in the lower register. Rich overtones and warm character support both lyrical and expressive playing.

What viola size do Amber strings fit?
These are Medium (S) strings for a vibrating length of 36–38 cm, measured between the bridge and the nut. Choose by vibrating string length, not viola body length. At exactly 38 cm, Warchal recommends Medium.
How long do Amber strings last?
Replace when the sound becomes dull or intonation starts to go false. Wipe rosin off after each session to extend lifespan.
Are these strings authentic Warchal?
Yes. Symphonia stocks Warchal strings through the official supply chain. If a string is faulty on arrival or fails prematurely under normal use, contact us and we will arrange a remedy.

Do I need to add individual strings as well as a set?
A set already includes its listed strings. Add an individual string only if you want an extra or a different string. Check the selected set’s contents before ordering.
What does “Available online only” mean?
That option is not currently held at our Auckland store and is available for delivery. It is not available for immediate store collection. Availability can differ between options, so check the label beside each item.
