Thomastik-Infeld Spirocore Tungsten G and C Set is one of the most recognisable lower-string options in professional cello playing. The flexible spiral rope steel core and tungsten outer winding produce a tone that is brilliant, focused, and powerful, yet still musical and warm enough to blend in ensemble contexts.
The Spirocore G and C are frequently used as part of a hybrid setup: many players pair them with another brand's A and D to achieve a custom tonal balance, combining Spirocore's bright, projecting lower register with a warmer or more focused upper string. This product offers the G and C individually so you can add exactly what you need.

Which string should I order?
Order the G or C depending on which you need to replace. If replacing both lower strings at the same time, choose the G and C Complete set from the selector.
Why are these sold as G and C only, without A and D?
The Spirocore Tungsten G and C are specifically designed as lower-string options. Many players use them as part of a hybrid setup, pairing the projecting lower register of the Spirocore with a different brand's A and D that better suits the upper register of their instrument. No standard Spirocore A and D set is available here.
How long do Spirocore Tungsten strings last?
Lifespan depends on playing hours, perspiration, and environment. Spirocore strings are known for their durability and are often reported to outlast many other string types at a professional level. Replace when the tone becomes dull or the pitch is unreliable.
How long do new Spirocore strings take to settle in?
Break-in is short. Allow 24 to 48 hours of normal playing. The strings settle quickly and hold pitch reliably thereafter.
