Thomastik-Infeld · Violin String
Rondo,
warmth and soloistic power.
Synthetic-core violin strings with a great balance of warmth and brilliance. Soloistic power, vast dynamic range, and immediate bow response. Individual E, A, D, and G strings for 4/4 violin.
About Rondo
Warm meets bright, with soloistic projection.
Rondo strings are designed for soloists and advanced players who want warmth without losing brilliance on the top string. The synthetic core delivers soloistic power and a vast dynamic range with an immediate bow response. An additional benefit for players on resonant or older instruments: Rondo reduces the intensity of wolf tones.
The four voices
E, A, D, G — each string's character.
E String
Tin-plated, removable ball
Carbon steel, tin-plated, removable ball end (8.2 kg tension). The source of the set's balanced top-end brilliance.
A String
Warm aluminium
Aluminium wound, synthetic core (5.7 kg tension). Warm and balanced, holding the set's characteristic blend through the upper register.
D String
Silvery midrange
Silver wound, synthetic core (4.8 kg tension). Rich and warm through the middle register with the soloistic presence Rondo is known for.
G String
Warm and projecting
Silver wound, synthetic core (4.8 kg tension). Warm and projecting on the low string, completing the set's even tonal balance from bottom to top.
Playability
Immediate response, calmer wolf tones.
Rondo strings respond immediately under the bow and maintain a wide dynamic range for nuanced phrasing. For players on resonant or older instruments with pronounced wolf tones, Rondo reduces their intensity, making the set a practical choice beyond just its tonal character. Total set tension is approximately 23.5 kg.

Frequently asked
Thomastik Rondo, in short.
What is the tonal character of Rondo strings?
Warm and brilliant in balance, with soloistic power and a vast dynamic range. The warmth stays present even at full bow pressure, making Rondo suitable for players who want projection without sacrificing the warmth of the lower register.
Do Rondo strings help with wolf tones?
Yes. Rondo reduces the intensity of wolf tones on resonant or older instruments, which is a genuine practical benefit for players whose instruments have pronounced wolf notes.
Are these authentic Thomastik-Infeld strings?
Yes. Symphonia stocks Thomastik-Infeld through the official supply chain. Faulty strings are replaced in line with manufacturer warranty.
Can I return an opened string packet?
No. Strings cannot be returned once opened, for hygiene and tension reasons.
