Classical Guitar Teacher- Lora Kurusa
Born and raised in Budapest Hungary, Lora started her classical guitar journey at the age of 12. In four years time she completed her grade 8 exam with an A+ result, and at the age of 15 she won her first scholarship to study classical guitar at the Elder Conservatorims' Open Music Academy. Lora has been awarded multiple project based scholarships to attend guitar summer school overseas, and she also won the 2020 Biennial New Zealand International Classical Guitar Competition (youth section). Lora successfully passed her audition into her Classical Guitar Performance degree at the University of Auckland after year 12, and she is currently a sponsored artist with the Italian origin- Australian based classical guitar luthier, Domenic Roscioli. Lora's favourite performance highlight includes performing 'Fantasia Para un Gentilhombre' a work written for solo guitar and orchestra, with the New Classics Sinfonia at Auckland Town Halls' Chamber room.
In addition to her career as a performer, Lora is a passionate and dedicated classical guitar teacher who focuses on the growth and development of students' musical abilities. She has been teaching privately of all ages and abilities, and she is currently employed at ACG Parnell College and Epsom Music School, where she prioritises helping students express themselves through music/ performing.
