Collaborative Pianist - Rosemary Moon-Sun Song
Rosemary Moon-Sun Song is a collaborative pianist based in Auckland. She has extensive experience, having worked in Sydney after completing a Master of Music in Collaborative Piano at the Conservatorium of Music. During her studies, she received the Mollie Neale Memorial Scholarship and a grant from PPCA in 2010 to further her career as a professional collaborative pianist. She studied under David Miller and Maree Ryan, following her Bachelor of Music with Elizabeth Powell in 2008. She was chosen to study in Germany through the University of Sydney exchange program, in Hochschule für Musik, Freiburg, Germany, where she extended her knowledge about collaborative piano, working with both Opera and Lied singers, as well as instrumentalists.
Rosemary is a member of the Accompanists’ Guild of N.S.W Inc. and regularly performs at various events including On-Stage concerts, music festivals, competitions, and fundraising concerts at retirement villages.
In addition to her music qualifications, Rosemary holds a Master of Teaching degree from the University of New England. She has worked at ACG Parnell College in Auckland as a music teacher, instructing students from primary to secondary levels. She is also a certified Orff-Schulwerk teacher and a committee member of ONZA (Orff-Schulwerk New Zealand Aotearoa).
Currently, Rosemary works as a collaborative pianist at the University of Auckland. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her children, bushwalking, learning languages, practising organ, and doing yoga.
