Geared pegs for violin,
an 8:1 ratio under your fingers.
Wittner's geared violin pegs replace the four traditional pegs in the scroll. An internal 8:1 gear ratio means a full turn of the peg moves the string a fraction — enough to make tuning a violin straightforward, even for students.

What changes
The wrestle goes away.
Traditional violin pegs rely on friction. They grip until they release; the gap between flat and sharp can be tiny. Wittner's 8:1 gearing turns that into smooth, controlled motion — small adjustments stay small, and the pegs hold their position rather than slipping back.
Because pitch holds, the violin settles faster after a string change and stays in tune through temperature and humidity shifts.
Installation
Fitted by a luthier.
The pegs look like traditional pegs once installed. Fitting requires a luthier: the peg-hole diameter and taper need to match the shaft accurately, which is why we ask for measurements before the order goes through.
After fitting, they need no special maintenance — it is a one-time upgrade.

4/4, 3/4, 1/2, 1/4.
Available for full-size violins as well as the common student sizes. The pegs sit unobtrusively in smaller scrolls, which is part of why they work well for students just learning to tune.
