One full set for 4/4 violin: a regular steel E, plus aluminium-, silver-, and silver-wound synthetic A, D, and G strings.
Tonal character
Warm, focused, exceptionally stable.
Obligato strings are warm and full, with a brilliant, rich overtone spectrum and a focused tone. They are loved by chamber and orchestral musicians for their tone volume and exceptional blend, and offer excellent playability and response across the entire dynamic range.
Like other strings in this family, Obligato strings are absolutely insensitive to variations in temperature and humidity.

The E-Steel variant.
This configuration replaces the standard goldsteel E with a regular steel E-string to offer a slightly different tonal balance — a touch more directness on the top voice.

A String — exceptionally warm, rich, gut-like sound. Blends with D and G.
D String — warm and powerful, complex and rich with immediate response.
