Questions

What age can my child start lessons?
We accept students from age 4 onward for most instruments. For very young beginners we recommend a 30 minute lesson with a teacher experienced in early childhood music education.
Do you offer trial lessons?
Yes. Register your interest using the form and we will arrange a trial with a suitable teacher. Trial lessons follow the usual rate for that teacher and duration.
Are online lessons available?
Some teachers offer online or hybrid lessons. Let us know in your registration and we will match you accordingly.
What if I miss a lesson?
Make up policies vary by teacher. Most teachers offer one make up lesson per term with 24 hours notice. Specifics are confirmed at registration.
How do payments work?
Lessons are billed per term in advance. Invoices are issued at the start of each term. Fees are non-refundable. Full terms in the registration form.
Do you teach adults?
Yes. Many of our students are adult learners, including beginners, returning musicians, and those preparing for exams or auditions.
Do you prepare students for ABRSM or Trinity exams?
Many of our teachers specialise in both ABRSM and Trinity preparation. We assist with registration and provide our hall for recording exam performances.
Where is Symphonia located?
57 to 59 Wellington Street, Freemans Bay, Auckland 1011. Free on site parking after 5pm on weekdays and all day on weekends.
