Artino · Cello Endpin Stopper

The Wooden Sound Anchor,
where stability meets resonance.

An endpin stopper that does two jobs at once: it holds the spike of the cello securely and uses a hollow wooden chamber to colour what the floor would otherwise absorb.

The acoustic idea

Vibration that's normally lost to the floor.

When the cello rests on a standard rubber stopper, some of the vibration travelling down the endpin is dampened by the floor. The Artino anchor sits in that path with a hollow wooden chamber, letting some of that energy resonate rather than disappear.

Players often describe a fuller projection and a more present low end when they switch from a plain rubber stopper. The change is subtle, but it is consistent enough that many performers carry one to every concert.

Construction

Built around the way a cellist sits.

An ergonomic divot in the wooden body seats the endpin spike securely. A non-slip rubber pad on the underside protects floors and keeps the anchor in place. A durable strap loops around the chair leg so the cello stays at a consistent distance from your body, performance to performance.

Which Artino is right?

Wooden anchor or cello-shaped stopper?

If projection is the goal, the wooden anchor is the one. For a lighter, simpler stopper with three spike holes, see the cello-shaped Artino. Email info@symphoniamusic.co.nz if you'd like a steer.
