Teacher - Yun-Hsuan Huang Flute
Yun-Hsuan Huang, a distinguished flutist from Taiwan, began her musical journey at the
age of five with piano and nine with the flute. She completed her Master of Music degree
at Taipei National University of the Arts in 2006, under the mentorship of renowned flute
pedagogue Hwei-Jin Liu. Her exceptional talent has been recognized through numerous
scholarships and competitive accolades, including the first prize in the Taiwan National
Flute Competition. Yun-Hsuan has had the privilege of collaborating with eminent
musicians such as Seiji Ozawa, William Bennett, Arnheim Yossi, Victor Pikayzen, Nai-
Yuan Hu, and Rodney Winther, and has showcased her artistry in recitals and chamber
music performances across Taiwan, Japan, Canada, and Malaysia. Her performance
portfolio includes engagements with prestigious ensembles like the Taipei Symphony
Orchestra and Taipei Philharmonic Orchestra.
In addition to her performance career, Yun-Hsuan is dedicated to education and has
taught at several universities and high schools in Taiwan. Her commitment to her
students' development is evident in their successful admissions to leading
conservatories and universities worldwide, including institutions in the USA, UK,
Netherlands, and Australia. Currently based in Auckland, Yun-Hsuan continues to
inspire and cultivate the next generation of talented musicians, including her role at the
Epsom music school in Parnell.
