notably powerful compared to the classic Dominant. A good balance of brilliance and warmth, immediate focused response, bell-like tonal character, and a wide dynamic range. Individual E, A, D, and G strings for 4/4 violin.

About Dominant Pro

The power and clarity that classic Dominant never had.

Dominant Pro is the next step from the classic Dominant, delivering significantly more power and a focused, bell-like tonal character designed for modern professional performers. It offers a good balance of brilliance and warmth, reacting immediately with a focused sound core and a wide dynamic range.

The E string is available in Tin (standard) or Gold-plated variants. The Gold E provides a warmer, rounder, and broader top end, suitable for taming overly bright instruments.

E, A, D, G — each string's character.

E String

Tin or Gold options

Tin-plated carbon steel (standard) or Gold-plated stainless steel. The Tin E delivers maximum brilliance and the bell-like clarity of the DP100 set. The Gold E adds warmth and roundness at the top.

A String

Powerful and warm

Aluminium wound, synthetic core. Powerful, warm, and highly responsive with a focused sound core that reacts immediately to the bow.

D String

Rich and full

Silver wound, synthetic core. Rich, warm, and full-bodied through the middle register. A silver variant also available for more brilliance.

G String

Powerful and immediate

Silver wound, synthetic core. Powerful, warm, and projecting on the low string, reacting immediately to bow pressure.

Playability

Immediate response, wide dynamic range.

Dominant Pro strings react immediately under the bow with a focused sound core and a wide dynamic range. Frequently asked

Dominant Pro violin strings, in short.

What is the difference between Dominant and Dominant Pro?

Dominant Pro is significantly more powerful than the classic Dominant, with a focused, bell-like tonal character and a wider dynamic range. Classic Dominant is warm and balanced; Dominant Pro is powerful and clear with more brilliance. They are separate products with different tonal profiles.

Which E string should I choose, Tin or Gold?

The Tin E delivers the set's signature bell-like brilliance and maximum power. The Gold E provides a warmer, rounder, and sweeter top end, which is useful for taming instruments that run bright or for players who prefer less edge in the upper register.

Are these authentic Thomastik-Infeld strings?

Yes. Symphonia stocks Thomastik-Infeld through the official supply chain. Faulty strings are replaced in line with manufacturer warranty.

Can I return an opened string packet?

No. Strings cannot be returned once opened, for hygiene and tension reasons.
